Tongues- Language of Spirit Man

(Sunday Sermon - Apr 28, 2023)

Promise: (Matthew 17:20 KJV)

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

(Act 2:1 KJV-BRG)  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Sanctification:

(1Th 5:23 NIV)  May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. When you are born again, your Spirit is recreated. (2Co 5:17 NIV)  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2Co 5:17 BBE)  So if any man is in Christ, he is in a new world: the old things have come to an end; they have truly become new. Think of the old sins you enjoyed in flesh. The old friends of the world.

Fight and Flight: My grandfather after a quarrel with the family members decided to flee to Singapore in search of a job. While working in Singapore, he attended a church service. To my grandfather, church attendance was only an obligation on Sunday mornings. He had no genuine relationship with Jesus. At the entrance, the Chinese usher greeted him telling ‘Sami anchu.’ He wondered what that word meant. He tried to recollect details from his memory. To his astonishment he remembered that this phrase was uttered by a Keralite illiterate preacher—who had no knowledge of the Chinese language.

At the end of the service, my grandfather approached the pastor of the church and asked him the meaning of Sami Anchu. The pastor replied that it is a Chinese dialect meaning ‘Praise the Lord.’ This word shocked him. He had heard an illiterate village pastor who visited his house, speak in tongues and say ‘Sami anchu.’ He wondered how a villager in a remote village in Kerala could speak the wonders of God in the Chinese language! He remembered teasing and insulting the pastor by throwing papers at him. But the pastor bore it silently with a smile. He knelt before the altar with shock and surprise asking God to reveal His purpose for his life. There he got convicted of his sins and confessed them to become a new man in Christ. He asked for forgiveness for not having believed about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. At that very moment he acknowledged the presence of the Holy Spirit and asked God to fill him with the anointing.

In a few days time, as the thirst for anointing grew, God baptized my grandfather with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of other tongues. This is in line with what the psalmist said, “For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (Ps. 107:7).

Tongues of Angels:

(1Co 13:1 BBE)  If I make use of the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am like sounding brass, or a loud-tongued bell. The angels speak in tongues. Before Jesus was resurrected to heaven (Mar 16:17-18 KJV-BRG)  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. These words are not a promise but signs that follow those who believe.

(Joh 14:16 KJV-BRG)  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever. The Holy Spirit will come only after Jesus departs. The Holy Spirit is given to abide with us. If you are not baptized with the Holy Spirit, ask the Lord to fill you.

*TEACHER* : What do you call mosquitoes in your language?

*Student*: We don’t call them, they come on their own.

The devil comes like mosquitoes. But the Holy Spirit comes only by invitation. The stupid devil comes barging in.

Edification/Emboldening:

(1Co 14:4 KJV-BRG) He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. edifieth gk- ‘oikodomeo’ means to build up, to construct, to grow in wisdom, piety, holiness. It is like charging a battery. Speaking in tongues combined with Word of God will make you spiritual giants.(Pas. Chris). You feel afraid, timid; Speaking in tongues is the solution and remedy.

Facing Fear: In 2001 Pas. Chris preached if you get kidnapped, speak in tongues. Shortly after this message was preached, a young lady was kidnapped. AS she remembered this message she started speaking in tongues. The men were irritated and threatened to kill her. But she kept talking loudly. The kidnappers stopped the car, opened the door and fled. Glory to God!

To Preach: The Apostles. Speaking in tongues gives boldness and authority.

It Charges you: Quick charge your Spirit. (Jdg 16:3 KJV-BRG)  And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of a hill that is before Hebron. The Spirit is given to abide.

24-4-24 Fri “Benefits of speaking in Tongues”

Edification/Emboldening: (1Co 14:4 KJV-BRG) He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. edifieth gk- ‘oikodomeo’ means to build up, to construct, to grow in wisdom, piety, holiness. It is like charging a battery. Speaking in tongues combined with Word of God will make you spiritual giants. (Pas. Chris). You feel afraid, timid; Speaking in tongues is the solution and remedy. You need to face an interview where tough questions will be asked. You are fearful, how you would face it? Speak in tongues and pray. There are less customers in your shop, want them. Speak in tongues. You are praying for better performance in job. Speak in tongues. (2Ti 1:7 NIV) For the Spirit God gave us does not make us fear, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. If you are in fear or people are intimidating you, speak in the language of the Holy Spirit. You are unable to love somebody, speak in tongues. He also gives you self-discipline. When you are drifting and going out of the way, mind is distracted, seek the Holy Spirit.

Only two categories of people are happy in life-The Mad and the Child. Be Mad to achieve a goal. Be a Child to enjoy what you achieved.

A BLIND PERSON asked GOD: “CAN THERE be ANYTHING WORSE THAN LOSING EYE SIGHT?” HE REPLIED: “YES, LOSING YOUR VISION!”

Old Testament: The Old Testament saints did not speak in tongues. They were not born again because Jesus was not revealed in flesh. With this new language, you speak to the Holy Spirit who fills you. It is a spiritual language which you cannot learn with your mind. (Pas. Chris) With this Spiritual language, you can communicate with God and His holy angels.

(1Co 14:2 NIV)  For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. Man is a Spirit and he lives in a body. It is in the Spirit, he communicates with the Spirit. The recreated human being needs this language to communicate.

Isa 28:11 KJV-BRG) For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people? This kind of lips did not take place in the Old Testament but in the new covenant. It is the Holy Spirit language. God wants you to have it. Without the Holy Spirit you live an empty religion. (1Co 14:2 NIV)  For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. What the known languages are unable to speak, you speak in the language of the Spirit.

Note: There could be some edits. Read, meditate and pray with the above word of God saints.
