The Secret Coming of Jesus

(Sunday Sermon - Nov 26, 2023)

Promise: (1Th 5:2 NIV) for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

Thief: We are going to see the characteristics of a thief.

 1. Secret:

The thief does not say when he will come. Suddenly he comes. When people are not expecting, he comes. You have heard that Jesus is going to come soon. He does not tell the date. He will come suddenly. There will be people who are afraid of meeting Him. They have not met with Him regularly. But a believer need not be shocked by the coming of Jesus because you are meeting Him daily in your prayer room and outside. i.e Selvapandian

2. Steal:

The thief comes to steal. What he steals? Will he steal from the broomstick, garbage, sandals etc. He comes to steal the precious things at home. He wants the gold, money and other important things in the house. (1Pe 1:7 NIV) These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed. The devil comes to steal your faith. He does things in your life that make you lose faith in God. (Heb 12:2 NIV) fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus is coming back for the believers who stand for Him in faith. Your faith is greater than gold.

3. Night/Darkness/Light:

Christ’s coming, as far as the world is concerned, will be sudden and unexpected, like a thief in the night; but not so for the believer. We are looking for Him to come. Unbelievers are in the dark: their understanding is darkened (Eph_4:18; Eph_5:8); they love the darkness (Joh_3:19-21; Eph_5:11); they are controlled by the power of darkness (Eph_6:12); and they are headed for eternal darkness (Mat_8:12). But the Christian is associated with the light, for God is light, and Christ is the Light of the world (Joh_8:12). The Christian is a child of light (Eph_5:8-14), though at one time he was darkness itself. The change that was wrought is described in 2Co_4:1-6; Col_1:13; and 1Pe_2:9. Since Christians belong to the day, they should live in the light and be ready for Christ’s return.

2-7-20 Thursday Are you Rapture Ready?

(1Th 5:2 NIV) for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. It is a secret coming. The thief comes to steal the precious things. He comes at night when you are not expecting.

  • Rapture: (1Th 4:16 NIV) For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Michael the archangel. Trumpet is the Shofar. He is coming down from heaven. We will meet above the clouds. The clouds are in the range of gravity 60000 feet. After that we get across ozone and you won’t fall towards the ground. There are satellites running above gravity and they are moving. Glad news is that you won’t crash with any satellites. Oxygen is there till 15000 feet. The propeller planes flew 12000 feet. Nowadays it is jets flying at 30000 to 40000 feet. At this level there is no oxygen. The scientists discovered even if we have parachutes in the jets, before you are to 15000 feet, man will die without oxygen. That’s why there are no parachutes on the flights.
  • Clouds have water. H2O. We are going to meet Jesus above the clouds with our bodies. The Holy Spirit will take us and we say Hi Jesus. He says my bride is welcome. He takes us to heaven from there. We shall be with Jesus in heaven. This is the secret coming or Rapture.
  • At that time, Jesus will not come to the earth but in the midair above the clouds. We will meet Him. We will be caught up with Jesus taken to heaven. There will be boys playing in the field. Those who have accepted Christ will be caught up. People will be going in cars and Buses. Those who accepted Jesus alone will be caught up. All the babies will be caught up. Those of Hindus and other religions.
  • Readiness for rapture: You must receive Christ as your personal saviour. (John 3:16 NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:17 NIV) For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:18 NIV) Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
